In Australia we have found that the word “cheers” can be used for at least these three meanings:
As a toast
“Thanks” - as in “thanks for holding the door open for me”
“Goodbye” - as in “take care”, “see ya” “bye”
We’re keeping an ear open for more uses of this word…

Fiji Recap
There is a feeling of isolation while traveling, especially in developing nations where internet access is minimal. Fiji has very little in the way of news and the news that comes through TV is “government approved” apparently. Newspapers are scarce, in fact I don’t recall seeing any while we were there.

Fiji Update: BULA from the Coral View
The Yasawas are a chain of islands in western Fiji. We’re staying at one of the nicest places we’ve ever seen. The snorkeling is amazing and the people are incredibly friendly. The weather is a cool 77 degrees. Perfect weather for doing a lot of nothing. :)
We’ll post more updates when we get to Australia on Sunday.
